From now on all/most new netbooks purchased via Your Netbook will ship with the new Microsoft Windows 7 operating system so when you are reading up on your prospective purchase for Windows XP read Windows 7 (this does not include netbooks that ship with any form of Linux).
If you already have a netbook that utilises Windows XP and you would like to upgrade to Windows 7 then until now you may have faced a problem because netbooks do not come with an optical drive.
Thankfully Microsoft have now made available a tool to enable the installation of Windows 7 onto your netbook.
You will need to download the operating system from the following link first and then download the installer afterwards. You will also need to have in your possession a USB flash drive with at least 4GB capacity for the initial installation file and a Dual Layer DVD Drive/Blu-ray drive if you wish to backup the final download.
